BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is preparing to travel abroad for medical treatment. Initially, she will go to London to be with her son, Tarique Rahman. She will be transported via a specialized air ambulance. Following her arrival in London, she will be taken to a third country for admission to a multi-disciplinary medical center.

Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, Professor A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain, confirmed this information. He stated, “We have initiated the process to take Madam abroad to a multi-disciplinary hospital as soon as her health permits. As part of this, we have started arranging for a long-distance specialized air ambulance.”

Professor Hossain also mentioned that a letter has been sent from Khaleda Zia’s office to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding her medical trip. The letter outlines who will accompany her, including doctors, nurses, and family members. However, specific details about when she will travel and which country she will be treated in have not been disclosed.

Regarding Khaleda Zia’s health status, Professor Hossain said, “Alhamdulillah. Madam is under the continuous supervision of the medical board at her residence in Gulshan. Her condition is stable.”

It has been reported that Khaleda Zia requires a liver transplant. There are arrangements for this procedure at several medical centers in the United States, and communication has been established with specialized doctors there. She will be transported in an air ambulance equipped to provide all necessary medical assistance.

The 79-year-old former Prime Minister is currently suffering from liver cirrhosis, heart disease, lung issues, arthritis, kidney problems, and diabetes.
