The High Court has dismissed 11 cases filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
These cases, filed in various police stations across Dhaka—such as Jatrabari and Darussalam—during different periods of Sheikh Hasina’s government in 2015, included charges of arson, violence, and sedition.
On Thursday, a High Court bench consisting of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayetur Rahman delivered the verdict.
Khaleda Zia’s lawyers—Zainul Abedin, Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Kaiser Kamal, and Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim—told reporters that the former Prime Minister was not present at the locations mentioned in the FIRs. On these grounds, the court dismissed 10 cases related to arson and violence.
Additionally, Mahbub Uddin Khokon stated that the sedition case was dismissed because it was filed through a lawyer without prior approval from the state.
