People of Bangaldesh respects the national leader Tarique Rahman’s call by observing a complete strike all over the country.

On the first day of the nationwide movement for the restoration of democracy and the downfall of the authoritarian government, I’m presenting some noteworthy events of the day before you:

1) All long-distance transportation in the country is suspended from morning.

2) The ruling party, Awami League, is unable to bring vehicles on the road even by pressuring the transport owners. Even the streets are devoid of public transportation.

3) Across Dhaka and the entire country, massive processions are taking place in response to the call of Tarique Rahman. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and other parties have organized protest rallies across the nation.

4) Victims of brutal police killings in the restoration of democracy movement Chayssuti Union Chhatra Dal leader Shaheed Refayat Ullah during the blockade program of BNP in Kuliarchar of Kishoreganj and President of Chissuti Union Krishak Dal Shahid Md. Billal Mia.

5) In Sylhet’s South Surma Lala Bazaar, a confrontation during the BNP’s strike led to a police-perpetrated attack, resulting in the murder of Shahid Dilu Ahmed, a Jubodal committee member.

6) Narayanganj has witnessed widespread clashes involving police, Awami League, and BNP activists. Half a hundred BNP activists were shot, and three policemen were injured, as well as some Awami League members.

7) In Dhaka, notable disruptions have occurred:

-In front of the Janakantha Building, Kazi Rownakul Islam Srabon and his supporters have protested.

-In Khilgaon, a protest rally was organized by Chhatra Dal’s central executive committee under the leadership of its President, Rashed Ikbal Khan, and Vice President Nasir Uddin Nasir.

-A protest rally was held in Dhanmondi, led by Amanullah Aman, the former member of Dhaka University’s Central Students’ Union, and the General Secretary, Arif.

-Saif Mahmud Jewel, the General Secretary of the Central Students’ Union, was shot in the left eye and is currently in critical condition.

-The Gono Tantrik Manch organized a protest rally.

-Jamaat-e-Islam came down in support of the siege in the Jatrabari area after evening.
