According to a report by Indian media outlet The Print, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled Bangladesh, is currently living in a secure residence in the Lutyens’ Bungalow Zone of Lodhi Garden, New Delhi. The Indian government has arranged this accommodation for her.

The report states that Sheikh Hasina has been allocated a sizable bungalow that reflects her status, similar to the residences provided to Indian ministers, parliament members, and senior officials. For security reasons, she occasionally takes walks in Lodhi Garden, accompanied by appropriate protocols. She has been residing in this house for over two months. However, to protect her privacy and security, the specific address or street number of the bungalow has not been disclosed.

Sources indicate that stringent security measures have been put in place for Sheikh Hasina. Security personnel in plain clothes are stationed around her 24/7. As a distinguished individual, she is receiving this level of protection.

When asked whether Sheikh Hasina moves outside the residence, the source noted that if she requires anything, she informs the main security team, which takes the necessary actions accordingly.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian government has not officially informed the Bangladeshi government about Sheikh Hasina’s whereabouts. However, in August, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated in the Lok Sabha that Sheikh Hasina had sought permission to travel to India for a ‘short period.’

Several sources reveal that on August 5, Sheikh Hasina arrived at Hindan Air Force Station in Ghaziabad, near Delhi, accompanied by a few close associates aboard an Air Force aircraft. On that day, she met with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and senior military officials at the airbase. She departed from the airbase within two days.

Sources indicate that she could not stay at the airbase for an extended period due to inadequate security arrangements. Therefore, she was relocated to a safe location shortly after her arrival, and a secure residence was arranged for her in the safe and secure Lutyens’ area of Delhi.
